As for men of conscription age, although they are de iure entitled to TP, to enact some of the protections they need documentation which depends on the availability of Ukrainian consular services. Those have been made less accessible by UA government to encourage returns and conscriptions.

I'd be happy to talk or write about it through email (with a more generous character limit) in case you'd need any more information on the context in Poland.

I know the plans for upcoming national regulations (with March 2026 being the current cut off date for some programs, in alignment with the EU Council timeline), but in relation to Ukrainian arrivals, the presidency may not be as relevant, unlike for arrivals coming through the border with Belarus.

A flagship example here is men of conscription age who recently faced the risk of falling outside the scope of TP. Many of them immediately initiated asylum procedures in Poland, although their TP status was/is still valid. (Character limits on BS are *small*.)

In practice this allows complimentary protections which give TP holders, among others, access to the job market immediately (as opposed to after 6 months when non-TP holders apply for asylum).

All persons eligible for temporary protection may apply for asylum at any time. In case the asylum is granted, TP may (but need not be) suspended.

It would be interesting to compare how Member State practices differ across the EU. From the perspective of the legal framework in Poland, this solution appears quite surprising.

Are the sessions online/hybrid by any chance? I would love to listen in if possible. Congratulations on the new course!
