Not really. From the Korean war on the US has requested and received assistance for its military adventures. The US is the only NATO member to activate article 5. Yet when the US was expected to meet its obligations it reneged. Remember the US surrendered to the Taliban without warning its allies.

Trump wants Zelensky gone. I suspect he is insanely jealous because Zelensky is everything Trump isn't. A brilliant leader, respected by world leaders, high political support from the Ukrainian people, brave - attending front lines, trusted and above all, competent.

History does not support that contention. Remember that it was Obama and the Democrats that refused to honour the US Budapest Agreement guarantee to defend Ukrainian sovereignty if they gave up their nuclear and strategic capabilities. The US cannot be trusted regardless of leadership.

Well to be fair, Ukraine can hold against Russia and even win, but Russia and the USA as allies fighting Ukraine. Just a tad more difficult. Let's not kid ourselves , that is the reality.

It must be terribly embarrassing for you to repeat your general's claims that the Russian army is advancing and is in complete control of towns like Kupyansk and then find out the offensive was advancing in the wrong direction.

Zelensky leads He has visited command bunkers and trenches in a number of front line positions. The last national leader to do so, as far as I am aware was King Albert of Belgium who led his army from the front in WW1. Political photoshoot trips to safe positions in the middle east don't count.

Oh I would think that since the US is now overtly aligning itself with Russia Ukraine is simply not bothering to consult them. The US no longer has any cards to play.
