For a long time, I thought being a strong leader meant taking on more than my share.
Covering gaps. Carrying the weight. Stepping in before things broke.

It looked like leadership.
It was actually burnout.

Taking 100% responsibility is the difference between carrying the team…
and leading it.
January 23, 2026 at 4:15 PM
One of the most misunderstood ideas in leadership is 100% responsibility.

People hear it and think:
“I have to carry everything.”
“I have to fix everyone.”
“This is going to burn me out.”

That’s not responsibility.
That’s over-functioning.

This doesn’t apply only to classrooms or schools.
It applies to all of us who teach in any capacity.

Honoring Dr. King’s legacy isn’t a one-day act.
It’s a practice.
One we return to, again and again, in the quiet choices we make when no one is watching.

Managing leans on control.
Coaching builds awareness.

The leaders I see thriving today aren’t trying to control every outcome.
They’re focused on developing people, not just driving performance.
They’re leading like coaches.
January 17, 2026 at 1:29 AM
Leadership isn’t confined to titles or roles.
It lives in moments.
In reactions.
In choices.

How you show up when things are smooth matters.
How you show up when things are hard matters even more.
January 14, 2026 at 2:49 AM
When enough people are quietly, imperfectly trying to be a little more grounded, kind, and intentional — something shifts.

Maybe that’s a little woo-woo.
But if it that thought made you feel even slightly brighter, I’d say it’s just the perfect amount.

Before you finalize your goals or set your intentions for 2026, it’s worth taking one thoughtful look back at the year you just lived.

Not at the metrics.
Not at the dashboards.
But at the moments that mattered.

Let your intentions guide the tone, texture, and presence of your leadership next year
December 31, 2025 at 2:49 AM
As we look toward a new year, you’ll hear a lot about setting goals.
And goals are valuable. They give us direction, structure, and measurable outcomes.

Intentions shape how you move through your work, your relationships, and your challenges.
December 22, 2025 at 3:45 PM
What’s your motto?
Your mantra.
Your words of wisdom.

Just one sentence someone who’s never met you would read and think, “Ah. That’s how they move through the world.”

As I head into 2026, I’m trying this on as a North Star - If you’re not having fun, change the way you show up.
December 18, 2025 at 4:15 PM
It’s that time of year again — the season when “New Year, New You” messages pop up everywhere.

We’re told to make resolutions… but here’s the truth: resolutions run on willpower — and willpower always runs out because we are fighting ourselves rather than working with ourselves.
December 17, 2025 at 2:49 AM
I love a good plan.

But here’s the truth: the best leaders know how to plan and pivot.

Because no matter how beautiful your plan is, the world will change.
Markets shift. Teams evolve. Life happens.

The leaders who thrive stay curious, resilient, and grounded in the face of uncertainty.
December 12, 2025 at 2:30 AM
When you review your year, don’t just measure what you accomplished.
Look at how you accomplished it.

Did you stay curious when things got tough?
Did you stay grounded when things got chaotic?
Did you show resilience when things went awry?

Because those are the moments that define leadership.
December 10, 2025 at 2:49 AM
As you head into year-end reviews, here’s a secret: the most powerful mindset you can bring isn’t analysis — it’s curiosity.

Instead of asking,
“How did we miss that goal?”
try asking,
“What were we learning when that happened?”

Curiosity turns review into growth.
December 5, 2025 at 3:38 PM
Before you race into 2026 planning mode, pause.

Look at what you built, not just what you billed.
At the people you grew, not just the projects you finished.
At the moments you handled with grace instead of urgency.

Real leaders know that clarity for tomorrow starts with curiosity about yesterday.
December 4, 2025 at 2:49 AM
This is one of my favorite weeks of the year.

Cooking and care are my love languages.

Gratitude is a practice, not a holiday.
A discipline, not a mood.
A leadership strategy, not a soft skill.

Happy Thanksgiving. 🧡

So much of our world is virtual now. With one click, we can be anywhere—from our living rooms. The convenience, the access, the cost-savings… it’s all remarkable.

But lately, I’ve been reminded of something we often forget: the irreplaceable power of in-person gatherings.

I’m officially certified as a Leader Coach!

This certification is more than a milestone—it’s a reflection of how I believe people and teams grow best.

Leader Coaches lead with their teams, not above them.
They trade control for curiosity, direction for dialogue, and authority for authenticity.

Still feeling inspired after the National Business Leadership Conference. 🌟

A huge thank-you to the Executive Women Media for creating such a powerful space for connection, curiosity, and growth—and to the incredible lineup of speakers I was honored to share the stage with.
November 13, 2025 at 4:06 PM
It’s not your title that makes you a leader.
It’s how you choose to show up.

It’s about recognizing your patterns, owning your impact, and choosing presence over reaction. It’s the foundation of how I show up—as a human and as a coach—and it guides how I support every team I work with.
November 12, 2025 at 2:49 AM
✨ I’m beyond excited — and deeply proud — to be presenting at the National Business Leadership Conference, sharing the stage Thursday with such incredible experts and changemakers. I can’t wait to learn, grow, and connect alongside so many brilliant voices leading the way forward.

Love seeing authentic communication at the heart of education.

I was recently featured in an article by Mattie Schuler for We Are Teachers talking about how co-teaching relationships can thrive — even when styles clash.

When leaders show up authentically, three things happen:

1️⃣ Trust accelerates.

2️⃣ Innovation increases.

3️⃣ Engagement deepens.

The question isn’t whether authenticity belongs in leadership.
It’s how you’re using it to make your team stronger.

At some point, we all play the part of a leader, speaking and behaving as expected. Yet, what if your most powerful self is your authentic self? I'll delve into this at the 20th Annual National Business Leadership Conference. Let’s embrace real leadership. #Authenticity #NBLC2025

In this moment, when inclusion work can feel uphill, I’m deeply grateful for everyone still showing up — doing the hard, human work of equity and belonging.

Inclusion isn’t optional. It’s a strategic advantage — the foundation for trust, innovation, and thriving teams.
