Healthcare trainees born between 1999-2005 in our study had approximately 70% anti-HBs titers ≥10 mIU/mL, regardless of their reported vaccination history. However, one in four had titers below the protective threshold, despite self-reports of a complete vaccination schedule. doi.org/10.1017/ash....

The implementation of an ASP in the pediatric ICUs of a Peruvian center was associated with a significant 12% reduction in average antibiotic consumption. These findings underscore the vital role of ASPs in fostering appropriate and rational antibiotic use.

Patients discharged with surgical drains were interviewed to determine how the drains were managed and potential risk factors. Post-operative drain care instruction was revised as a result of differences identified between patients with SSI compared to those without SSI. doi.org/10.1017/ash....

@aprildyerid.bsky.social et al: A novel abx use denominator, targeted abx use admission, is defined as an inpt admission in which a select agent/group of agents is administered. Used in combo with length of therapy, it allows programs to quickly assess agent inpt durations. doi.org/10.1017/ash....

The misuse of antibiotics in poultry farm worsens AMR. A survey in Enugu State found 90.5% used antibiotics, mainly for infections (80.5%) and growth (61%). Ampicillin (75%) was most used. Yet, 65% were unaware of AMR. Stricter regulations and education are needed. doi.org/10.1017/ash....

Across 3 facilities, 47% of high prescribers of broad-spectrum hospital-onset (BSHO) agents continued to prescribe high in the subsequent periods versus 24% for high anti-MRSA agents prescribers. Persistence of high prescribing adds credibility to our metric for BSHO agents doi.org/10.1017/ash....
