Reasons I didn't change my last name when marrying:

1. I am not my husband's property.
2. I'm lazy, was already planning a wedding and was not adding paperwork to the list.

1. Avoiding republican manipulation, xenophobia and sexism.

And yet here we are.

New Year's resolution is to read 25 minutes a night. I got in a lot more than just that in January, with the following books read:

- The Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood

It doesn't feel like 2025 to me. Am I the only one? It just feels like the 13th month of 2024.

I love posts that ask "What books should I give my kid?" But for me, it's pretty simple: I just look for the newest list of banned books and pick from those.

I know it's such a minor thing to be annoyed about given the state of things in our country, but it's nearly Thanksgiving and my flannels are still sitting untouched in my closet. I could really use some cozy weather right now!

If you're struggling against writer's block, just start writing. It doesn't have to be something you want to include or keep. It could be two characters talking. Describe the room they're in. Have them give chase, or run away. Let your characters or scenery evolve without commitment.
