Christmas dinner just doesn't quite hit the same after gastric bypass surgery. At least I got to enjoy the smells?

It's just not Christmas until #Word has been sung. #9LC

Coming to my kids' concerts reminds me of why I left K-12. The concerts are exemplary and I'm one proud papa. The kids yelling from the balcony like it's a basketball game has caused my heart rate to spike and I've caught myself feeling for the referral pad I haven't had in a decade now.

I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in an anti-conservatory music program. My music majors and minors are better for getting to experience a well-rounded liberal arts education.

Been thinking about next steps in my career lately. I am finally at a school where I feel empowered to achieve my goals, I just don't know how exactly to get there. Or who to talk to about to learn how.

@wesflinn.bsky.social Now that you're just one State over, you've got to come to TMEA. You'll have a blast. Root beer at Schilo's is on me.

I'm really saddened by the large-scale enshitification of Android "news" sites. I remember writing multi page analysis of the number of clicks it took to complete tasks in different launchers and collaborating on detailed kernel releases. Now, it's single sentence paragraphs on app color choices.

I was raised a mountain farm conservative and taught to honor the Constitution and Rule of Law.

I currently find myself the target of name calling and insults by modern conservatives because I stood up for the Constitution and Rule of Law in supporting today's protests.

House and Senate parliamentarians should be able to censure members for lying to the American people.

Change my mind.

What a person says and does when they believe they are not being watched is the truest reflection of who they really are. People have been targeted and fired for less than this within the last six months..

I know this is a public platform, but I feel safer here than almost anywhere else at this point. I've deleted all my X profiles after my feed began turning into a depressing, angry, bitter stream of falsehoods and I pretty much only use Facebook for the people who aren't here.

Several churches in my town are gathering today for an interfaith Celebration of Life for a certain celebrity.

I mentioned "what if we got together, pooled our resources, and bought and cancelled medical debt?" and got laughed out of the room.

Hey #YouTube, how about requiring content creators to identify AI-assisted or AI-generated content? Human authors don't mention #mechanicalprecision every four sentences. Human readers don't say "number" every time a sentence ends with the word "no."

For those of us who process things through open discussion and dialogue, this is not a fun timeline to exist in.

If a student loses education services because they move, that's cruelty.

If a person loses the medical care because they move, that's cruelty.

If a couple's status is penalized because they move, that's cruelty.

I thought I was going to a short Imposition of Ashes service this morning and ended up attending a full length Mass. I actually really enjoyed it and was able to keep up with most of the liturgy even with my UMC high church experience.

Ever have a private lesson that makes you want to run through a wall? My euphonium student just came in and nailed the week's assignment. His jury is going to be funktastic.

It's #TMEA week! So much to look forward to in San Antonio.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is explaining that my school (Austin College) isn't a community college and isn't in Austin. Repeatedly.
