and I hope I can offer an escape in this book about a girl in high school who's actually able to fight those dragons (and also turn into a dragon because that's still DOPE)

It's coming out March 10th, and I just really want it to find someone else in high school who deals with chased-by-dragons level of stress in ways only high schoolers can feel,

The book as it stands right now built was on the foundations of that "chased-by-dragons" levels of stress, but it's so so much more now.

Yeah, it was a book written by a high schooler but the heart was there I kept that draft. I rewrote it during my undergrad. and rewrote it again. and again. I explored my own queerness. I processed my new chronic illness. Every draft was what I needed at the time.
