Hey hey, #PortfolioDay!

I'm Ashley, a NY-based illustrator who works on book covers, tarot cards, and TTRPGs!

I'm on a mission to do more traditional work, and here is one I made last summer. I'm dying to do more, so keep an eye out!!!

An interpretation of the Arthurian legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, in which the knight is seduced by both Lord and Lady Bertilak. Here we see the knight in between the couple, head tilted back, eyes closed, as Lord Bertilak wraps a large hand around his neck and presses in close from behind. Lady Bertilak is pulling off his green belt with one hand, and reaching below to undo the lacing on his pants with another. The knight’s visible hand squeezes Lady Bertilak’s thigh tightly.

I played myself, I just wanna render more precious stones because opal and jade were so damn fun to work out! Here's a WIP of what it was looking like before I added final layers and shadow/lighting (also before I redid the rabbit lines to make it look more like a detailed stone inlay)

I originally made this one as a birthday present for my mom 💚

With her permission, I've made posters of it that are in my shop.

She has a reeeaaalllllly big one that I commissioned a custom print of and had a friend gold-leaf for her though💚

I said this in a discord to some friends earlier, but one of my favorite things lately is when video auto captions keeps misspelling Kristi Noem's name as "Kristi Gnome" and tbh if someone wanted to make some art about that for the protests, especially if she is around, feel free to take the idea 😎
