More often than not, writers will be working on a sequel or a video game adaptation of a pre-established (and often well-loved) universe. Contributing to these worlds can be daunting for some, but others have been doing it for years under a different name: Fanfiction. Though fanfiction is considered embarrassing and “cringe,” it creates a solid foundation for working as a video game writer.
