They’ve winched a new bridge over the Trent today using one of the biggest cranes in the world (« Big Carl »). It really is quite a thing to behold.

While cleaning a storage room, our staff found this tape containing #unix v4 from Bell Labs, circa 1973

Apparently no other complete copies are known to exist: https://gunkies.org/wiki/UNIX_Fourth_Edition

We have arranged to deliver it to the Computer History Museum

This was an annoying project because I wanted to add a 24v to 5v dc-dc converter on board, but it is so pretty now!

Now lives in the comfy area of @nottinghack
A PCB with some various things to control the brightness of the display illumination, push messages via rs485, ethernet, and usb-c to program the arm chip. The flip dot display looking fabulous in the comfy area, displaying the message "hack the planet"

Modern tech fail. I have one of these smart plugs which runs ESPhome and it stopped working a while back. Finally took it open to take a look (required a small blood sacrifice from my thumb).
