So long I've been stolen from the forest, I no longer remember the feel of hand-threaded hemp against my skin, grit on my hands and in my hair, cool river water cleansing me. I know only satin adorning my body, scented hair perfectly fixed; a Viera gilded into a doll. Soulless.

There was a time I felt satisfied in rags of my own making, that I prayed in cathedrals of light and leaves, that I felt rich in what little I owned, in my connection to the earth.
