If you don't want to read a book about a magnificent unicorn who accidentally sits in some paint and feels silly (and then discovers he's still lovable in his mistake), then that's fine. But to ban this book (for 10 years!) to make sure no one else can read it because of the word "heinie"? SMH. 8/

Klárlega, planið er að endurskrifa á íslensku þegar hún er tilbúin, finnst það spennandi! Finnst frekar lítið í boði af sambærilegu hér amk.

But maybe it does flow better, I think that might be genre thing? It's a romance (or romance adjacent at least), and I just haven't read much in that genre in Icelandic.

I'm writing in English partly bc doing a year long writing course in English, but also most professional (scientific) writing has been in English so far. I think my vocabulary isn't better or worse, but it differs for sure. The texture of the writing feels different somehow, Icelandic vs English...

My freezer is full of banana emergencies. Exactly as described. Except I freeze them first. Banana bread them later. Or banana muffins them. With chocolate. Of course.

An illustrator friend did a kid's book where one of the mums wore hijab. Not to make a point, just as part of a normal city school background. Took it to publisher and was asked to remove because it 'wasn't a book about inclusivity'
