Also the reason I choose Ted is 'cuz he's always been Proto's favorite (& by favorite it likes to pester him the most 'cuz it's looking for fun & Ted's unfortunately the perfect candidate for just being a paranoid douchebag) so there's already this weird clinginess it has with him since canon.
