It WAS a cameo thing hilariously enough. They came to him like a couple weeks ago, asked him to do this and he said “uh, I’m busy getting ready for a trip I’m just in my house doing things” and they went “that’s fine! Just do a quick zoom thing!” So… that’s why you see all the cat things in his home

-what, so we may as well do something else with our votes besides try and win. And who knows, maybe we’ll win something by accident. But we gotta acknowledge that this “only blue” and “only red” thing is just holding us hostage to this path we’re on no matter who wins.

If we get another republican, things are going to get worse. If we get a democrat who sucks like Newsom as a candidate, things are going to get worse, but not as bad and intensely as with a republican, and then we’ll wind up with a worse republican next time anyway. We lose the election no matter-

They’re preemptively panicking about what would happen if we had another republican president and acknowledging that the Democratic Party, in its pursuit of paying itself and catering to conservatives, is actually pretty likely to put up Newsom no matter how disliked he is.

Gavin Newsom is so aggressively hated that he practically has no chance of winning against a republican without his opponent being a literal war criminal and removed from the ballot. Democrats have to rally to someone outside the party if it comes to that.

Consider this: Republicans can get away with heinous scandalous things because a significant enough portion of their voter base is swayed by other things and borderline eager to look the other way. Democrats are much more likely to go “I’d rather not vote for anybody because everyone sucks.”

Because they see social media as the newest newspaper/radio/TV. A means of broadcasting what they want said to the wider world. They don’t see it as an avenue to contact them.

Yeah, I’m kind of okay with this.
