Continuing with the theme of migrating over from Twitter/X, here's another fun little movie I made a while back, showing the orbit of a *dark matter* particle that is trapped in resonance with the stellar bar. The orbit is shown from two different projections in a frame that rotates with the bar ✨

Thought I'd post this here too: a spiral disc galaxy, very similar to our own Milky Way, formed in a cosmological simulation. You can see the galaxy from various angles and projections - notice how the stellar bar in the centre looks like an X/peanut bulge when viewed edge-on 🤩 #astro 🔭 🧪
