30 years ago was the discovery of the first exoplanet orbiting a Sun-like star. This discovery kickstarted a whole new field of Astrophysics. Here is me in 2016 on an observing run at the observatory where it all happened. Little did I know I’d still be studying exoplanets nearly a decade later!

Has there been any official releases about the observations of 3I/ATLAS from various instruments on Mars? Lots of images circulating on Twitter and I’m wondering if they are official.

All eyes on #3I/ATLAS ☄️

Our Mars Express & ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter will observe the comet around its closest approach to Mars on 3 October 2025, when 3I/ATLAS will be around 30 million km from the red planet.

Stay tuned and follow esa.int/3IATLAS 🔭🧪
Infographic showing the path of comet 3I/ATLAS, the third known interstellar object to enter our Solar System. It displays the orbits of Earth, Mars and the Juice spacecraft around the Sun, along with key dates and events as comet 3I/ATLAS travels through the inner Solar System in 2025. Coloured and numbered dots mark important observation points by telescopes and spacecraft.

I feel like all astronomers should get an extended JWST submission deadline if the US government shuts down.

Fighting for my life, once again, trying to get pandexo and pandeia to work. The most problematic python packages in existence.

Keir Starmer spends too much time tweeting and not enough time doing. We don’t need politicians on social media, this is ridiculous. He’s every day tweeting empty claims.
