Between this and the reference during the Split Fiction run on GDQ, I feel like the universe is celebrating BTB.

Hey man. Thanks for writing some awesome books. I dunno how much War Lit scholarship I’ll do in the future, but I’ll keep returning to Militia House.

Putting AI competency on the same level as numeracy and literacy is hallucinatory. Becoming literate is the greatest change that happens to a human being in their lifetime. Giving the suicide-baiting machine to children en mass is not likely to develop their critical reasoning habits

I think it’s an understandable gameplay hook that clearly appeals to a lot of folks, but speaking to the original post’s concerns about feeling out-of-touch (and my own feeling that I want to spend my time differently), the gameplay loop asks a lot of its players. You have to fully commit to it.

A lot of the positive replies point to the social aspects and how players treat it differently than other shooters, and that’s fair. But there’s a wide gulf between “I want a fun game to play” and “I play this game just to feel something”. I don’t want to spend time gambling on the latter.

May I suggest doing the reverse? Leave “slop blender” in panel 1 and take out the second part of Mickey’s world bubble. Have him end on “haha“.

Practical Grammar. Professors told me I was a great writer, so I didn’t want to take what felt like a remedial skill course.
Starting language over again with grammar was like remapping my brain. Diagramming sentences showed me that I was an amateur who knew nothing.
I now teach practical grammar.

I love that I just assumed some friendly rando paid Gianni to do this on Cameo or whatever before I realized who posted it. Never change, Dave. <3

I will add the following: our students lack the research skills required to audit an LLM essay for errors. They don’t arrive on campus with these skills; we teach it to them over four long years. So throwing freshmen in the deep end and saying “swim your way to a shore of rectitude” is folly.

He couldn’t figure out what was missing from his own story? Dude doesn’t even want to read his own (“own”) writing. Why the hell would anyone else?
