Political ideas are not identities; rather, they are tools to be applied to different situations, as needed. For example, I don't typically think of myself as an anarchist, but it seems we could do with a good bit of anarchy these days.

Build strong communities first, because everything depends on this. Support your friends and neighbors, and welcome the stranger. But if you can, support your local animal shelter or rescue, because this also is what makes us human.

Before and after of our rescue mutts. I'm still of the opinion that doing a little good, wherever you can, is a good thing.

I look back at their origin pics often, on the days when they are a handful, because it really is a lot of work some days. But so worth it.
