Here's the thing: the reason TMS was so legendary...is Jim was able to make it his way. None of the networks wanted it; CBS only let him have a syndicated slot on their networks and the only person other than him that wanted to make this was a British executive with a BG in variety AND puppet shows

That's why I'm not as hyped about this. I hope it's good, I hope it leads to more, but I have seen and been through a lot with the Muppets post-Jim's death and my doubt is still high even if I want something as great as the 2011 movie or "Muppet Mayhem" out of this.

The Muppet Show was perfect due to perfect circumstances and Henson's greater independence throughout his lifetime.

But now that side of the Muppets are controlled by Disney. We do get good things like the 2011 film or "The Muppet Mayhem", but it's not a priority to a studio that has control of

(yeah let's remind ourselves: Lew Grade was huge with variety programs in the US and UK, but was also the guy that allowed for the Supermarianation shows of Gerry Anderson among other quirky things including "The Prisoner" and weird sci-fi dramas of the late 1960s/early 1970s).

The whole Egghead/Elmer Fudd mess is confusing; but it's a shame cause Egghead had some funny shorts when he was Egghead and not a mix-up. For a boxing short, "Count Me Out" and it's chaos was a really fun one and definitely one of the best ones for this short-lived character turned cartoon anomaly
