Book 23 for the year. To say this book had an impact on me is an understatement. It speaks in exceptionally stark and clear terms the negative impact colonialism has had on the entire world. This isn't an easy read, but I highly recommend it nonetheless. www.goodreads.com/book/show/59...

Book 22 for 2025. This one is mixed for me. I like the premise and plot. But Silverberg wrote this in 1969, and many of the ideas and behaviors of the protagonist are problematic. There are plenty of other classics that are better to read than this one. www.goodreads.com/book/show/19...

Book seventeen for the year. This one is not my usual fare, but looked interesting when I was looking at UK best sellers. It's a bit of a mystery/coming of age story that's also a nostalgic memory of very late 70's Yorkshire culture. www.goodreads.com/book/show/15...

Book sixteen for the year. I've been fascinated with ancient languages, and writing systems, for as long as I can recall. This is a very short, simple overview of Cuneiform. Next time I'm in a museum that has some examples, I will pay more attention. www.goodreads.com/book/show/25...

Just sold my car today. So I guess I've joined the takedown of an electric car company, famously associated with someone who is heavily associated with our less than capable president.

I could not stomach continuing to drive it with the abhorrent leadership both at that company and in this country.

For book 14 this year I picked up an old one. Gotta say, not the best, plot-wise. The main character was frustratingly lost most of the time, for being a null A. But it was a fascinating intro to general semantics, a pseudo-science I'd never heard of before. www.goodreads.com/book/show/95...
