Thank you for all those great tips. This was a 6x8 inch study. In acrylics. It was a challenge to get the colors toned down this much. And figuring out the layering. The greens have at least half a dozen. Trying to work up to a big canvas. I did finally get to see one on person a few weeks ago.

The isolation coat really makes it pop too. Here is a painting I used it on. The ultramarine blues were dull until I put the coating on.

Oh no! Yup. I have had that same experience. What I have found to work is Golden acrylic isolation coat. Mixed 50/50 distilled water. One or two thin coats at least 12 hours apart. That worked with acrylic markers. Then, varnish with matte coating if desired.
