Thanks for having me, Kiro Newsradio. I always appreciate the chance to chat about the news, the law, and being Attorney General.
Two radio hosts, a blonde woman and a dark-haired man, sit at a studio table with microphones and computers. The wall behind them is blue, patterned with the names of Pacific Northwest cities and the 97.3 KIRO Newsradio logo.

2/2: Our office remains committed to using every available tool to ensure equal treatment under the law so that everyone in Washington can live with dignity and respect. Thank you to the Queer Collective for their leadership in making sure our LGBTQ+ communities are heard, valued, and protected.
A man in a white shirt (left) stands facing a young woman in a red hoodie (right). Both are looking at each other intently. The woman is holding a smartphone and some papers, interviewing the man. They are standing indoors against a plain, light-colored wall. Three individuals are standing side-by-side and smiling for a photo. From left to right: a woman with long dark hair wearing a maroon shirt, a man in a white button-down shirt in the center, and an older woman with long grey hair and glasses on her head wearing a light-colored cardigan. Photos are displayed on the wall behind them. A man in a white shirt (left) is facing a woman with long, wavy hair (right) who is wearing a dark jacket over a blue shirt, and they are engaged in conversation. They are indoors, and the wall behind them is decorated with multiple large photographs of people in various outdoor settings.

1/2: The Queer Collective's community gathering at Tacoma Community College this Saturday was a great opportunity to share the work of our office to protect Washington’s LGBTQ+ community.
A Town Hall event is in progress. A man on the left, wearing a white shirt, stands at a podium with a microphone, addressing the audience. He is holding a small object with the rainbow flag colors. To the right, a woman in a grey outfit stands on a raised platform, looking towards the man. A diverse audience is seated at tables and chairs in the foreground and middle ground, with their backs mostly to the camera, listening to the speakers. A black curtain serves as a backdrop.

WA and 19 states are suing the DOJ to stop a new rule that cuts legal aid for crime survivors, including victims of domestic/sexual violence, who can't prove immigration status. This rule threatens victim services funding & forces aid denial: https://ow.ly/TumY50X5llB
A teddy bear sits on a wooden floor, covering its eyes. Above it, text reads: "Washington among states suing DOJ to protect services for crime survivors." A small seal for ATG.WA.GOV is at the bottom.

As a former U.S. attorney, I’m deeply troubled by the destruction of standards and morality at Trump’s Department of Justice. I discuss my thoughts more in-depth in this BBC interview

5/6: Our team at the Attorney General’s Office is working tirelessly to be prepared to respond if the president attempts to take similar unlawful actions here. We will do everything we can to enforce the rule of law and defend the constitutional rights of people in our state.
atg.wa.gov
4/6: But that is not what we are dealing with now. We’re seeing soldiers deployed in American cities and massive abuses of executive authority.

3/6: The public deserves to live without fear of their leaders. The public deserves an American president who aspires to be the president of all the states in this country. That is what our Constitution envisions and that’s what the people deserve.
atg.wa.gov
2/6: The escalation that we’re seeing in Portland, following what happened in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., is part of a bigger strategy to continue to push our Constitution to the brink until it’s rewritten in President Trump’s image.

1/6: There is no force in American politics that is more reckless and destructive than the current president of the United States.

People have the right to advocate for their beliefs without fear of violence. What happened in Tacoma is unacceptable, and we will do everything we can to assist local authorities in enforcing any violations of the law. We must do everything we can to protect the democratic process.

1/2: We’re back in court against the Trump administration—this time because the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is threatening to pull funding for sexual health education programs from states unless they remove language affirming young people’s gender identity.
In an orange quotation box, the text says "The federal government's far-reaching efforts to erase people who don't fit one of two gender labels is illegal and wrong--and would deny services to millions more in the process. These young people are treated equally under Washington state and federal laws, and we intend to make sure of it." - AG Brown. Below that is the Attorney General's Office seal and atg.wa.gov.
