The proto-party from which all other parties emerge?

This is the GDP per capita of Russia over time. Does the Putin period look catastrophic to you? It looks catastrophic to me...

This X post is from someone who died last year. The image contains an amazing quote describing him.

This is also my heritage. I wonder why DHS didn't happen to choose some Jewish immigrants? Probably a fluke, I bet. (I think everyone could usefully imagine their own personal version here.)

Finally, is the artist character rapidly balding between the first and second frames or something?
June 20, 2025 at 9:43 PM
And let's note that the AI can't settle on a consistent approach to eyes. Are they flat within faces, bulging slightly out, or bulging substantially out in all directions?
June 20, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Now look how they're consistently designed in the second frame. Neither of these choices is inherently wrong, although some of the details in the first frame were odd. But the change between frames is unusual.
June 20, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Something similar happens with teeth. Look how they're presented in the first frame.
June 20, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Some of the hands are just broken, reflecting choices that no human artist would ever make. Some are perfectly acceptable, except that they are a different style from the overall intent. It's a mix.
June 20, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Let's begin with the classic starting place: hands. Here is the apparently intended design. The AI isn't able to consistently maintain this, though.

No, no, no! The 20 guys at the parking lot waiting for work is the alleged "foreign invasion," because these people are fascist liars. The "insurrection" is marches like the one in the photo, because more fascist lies.

People seem to be missing the point. Biden's administration carried out an extremely repressive immigration policy in an unsuccessful attempt to neutralize Trump's appeal on this issue. He deported far more people per year than Obama or Trump I had done.

The "spike" word definitely has drama, which is bad news for science communication. But it combines with images of the COVID virus to create a really spreadable idea. I don't know that either the picture or the word alone would do it.

Just looking at data, searching in good faith for that Black privilege. May take me a bit to find it, I don't know.

Anecdotes are always interesting, but they're good to put in perspective. Here are representative data from the UK.

It would be good for people to have historical perspective on crime rates and not just calculate percentage changes from historically low baselines.

Even here, Singal can't stop doing dishonest propaganda. He mentions reports critical of care for trans youth but omits the wave of reports affirming care. Singal also doesn't mention that the state bans he discusses were part of the same hate movement he's critiquing in this op-ed.

This is Newsweek's terrible user interface design. All of the fairness meters default to this position below the meter on the left/unfair side until you rate. Then, after you rate, the meter will show your personal rating and text will show up underneath reporting the most popular rating.

Nope. This isn't the act of a Jewish government, or an act on behalf of the Jewish people. Please knock it off.

This is great! Check out this correction published last year. This published article had 30 at least partially hallucinated sources, and also refers to "vegetative electron microscopy" and "extracellular cells."

That's very supportive and wonderful of you to say! I have other books, shown here with an unloved form of my name blurred out. (Not that it's hard to find if someone wants to, just a google search away, so it goes.) This is a big chunk of my life's work!

The MAHA executive order very strongly replicates Andrew Wakefield and related extremist ideas about autism. We have "toxins," vaccines, diet, electromagnetism, inflammation, specific foods, etc. The whole harmful-autism-parent complex. Exciting to basically see Wakefield in government.

Wild stuff! LISEP's alternative unemployment metric shows the Biden presidency as unambiguously the *best* economic period of most people's lives, whereas traditional metrics simply show the Biden period as about as good as the Clinton era. Yet the LISEP guy pretends he's revealing a bad economy.
