Apparently my biological father (who I never met in person) & his father were map makers (hobby) & even belonged to a map making guild, his grandfather & uncles were engineers. And I still can't convince my cousin autism runs in the family. 😂🤦‍♀️

A rule our cat has (but we don't abide by, much to his frustration) is that no one is allowed to leave the house or do anything between the hours of 3 & 5 pm, bc that time is designated as "sit & wait for wet food," time, & we can't have any distractions.

c3rvida3: My one friend group can't stop saying, *See you in hell!" in a cheerful voice instead of "Talk to you later!" and my other friend group can't stop calling things"penis" instead of cool or good, so I just unironically uttered the phrase, "Sounds penis, see you in hell," as I got off the phone. c3rvida3: I think everyone should be doing this btw. Maybe, "Sounds penis, see you in hell," could be our, *Always."

This fall I went on about how the PNW can have months of gloomy rainy days in winter, & then the pattern shifted & other parts of the country got our rain in the form of ice & snow, while it's been unusually bright & sunny here. Low key concerned about our water levels though.

This. We do this! My husband finds me things & sends me pics related to my obsessions & I do the same for him, & we both do for friends & family too. We get as excited for their hyper fixations as we do for our own!

But it's also what makes me sound like some bizarre Luna Lovegood when I talk to people bc there's a whole nother (internal) world I'm pulling ideas from that they're not privy to. And if they have the patience to let me "show my work," (explain) they get it, but folks rarely have that anymore.

Bc it isn't that I struggled to reach an alpha state, it's that, unless I'm in situations where my brain is forced to do otherwise, I basically live there already. Which is why I find it difficult to be around certain people or in crowds & why I attract the folks I do.

Pipe tobaccos are my favorite both for simmer pots & incense (except when I have my own garden grown, then I use that) & this one is my go to (personal scent preference) but I also like a good vanilla, & my husband loves an apple tobacco.

Last full moon I was trying to get a picture of moonrise through our admittedly dirty picture window, & they all came out terrible, except ... the double pane refection picked up an decent representation of the moon, instead of the usual phone cam round blob light in the sky.

Types of introvert friends: The sidekick. Makes one friend, hopes they have other friends and that these other friends are similar enough to accept them. The roomba. Is just sort of always there, awkward and adorable, so that it's weird when they leave. The rockstar: Appears with glitter and alcohol and disappears just as fast, because they have the energy for 7.42 minutes of social interaction today and want it to be memorable. The union man. Only feels comfortable socializing if they can do something for you. Has a lot of strange but useful skills, equally likely to help you tile your bathroom as to hide a body. The potential AI. Far more comfortable in text than in person. Runs the group discord, perpetually active, rarely if ever seen in reality. The summon. Capable of socializing for hours if need be, but feels weird about being in places they don't think they fit, so only goes to events they were explicitly invited to. The alien: Pleasantly isolated to such a degree that when they casually talk about their normal life it reads as strange and otherworldly to everyone else. Very odd and very charming.

So even though it's 60 degrees again today, that's not how I know spring is on the way, even if it gets cold again for a while. How I know, is the light. For all of December & January the sun is too far south for the prism rainbow to shine on this wall. 🌈🌱

And I'm back to limiting what & how I consume media. I got drawn back in again, & it wasn't until yesterday I fully realized how much it's all been affecting me. I'll still be here, & still paying attention, just in a more consciously limited way.

Our daughter has been prepping for the foster cat mom life she's currently living, practically since birth. While other tween & teen girls had band posters & fashion magazines, she had walls plastered with cat calendar pics & a subscription to Cat Fancy.
