“You may call me ‘Father’ if you wish, Lex,” Triton states warmly; “And I shall call you, ‘Son’.”

“My daughters shall make certain that we have a celebration for that day,” he warns him with a chuckle; “Any change to have some fun …”

“Then we shall have a ceremony and make it official when you have the time.” He says smiling over the rim of his glass.

“That would be lovely, Lex,” Triton responds while picking up his glass; “I always wanted a son.”

“You are a good man, Lex,” Triton responds with a smile; “I would be more than happy to have you as my son.”

“I am not upset at all,” he responds while patting his companion’s shoulder lightly; “We are all created differently. I have a tail and you do not. I prefer females and you prefer males. It is what it is.”

“I was only thinking how wonderful it would be to have you as a son-in-law, Lex,” Triton responds with a chuckle. I take it that you do not fancy women?”

“What do you think of my daughters, Lex?” Triton asks curiously.

“Thank you for saying so,” the older man says; “We do aim to please down here.”

“You really prefer it down here, Lex?” Triton enquires while looking at his friend with shining eyes.

He smiles broadly as his companion’s words. It felt good to be honest.

“Good friends are hard to come by,” the merman states with clarity and warmth; “I always cherish them as should we all.”

“That is what friends are for, Lex,” Triton responds with a warm smile; “And we are friends are we not?”
