Few things more challenging than trying to rearrange your house and dust with a rambunctious cockatiel trying to get into everything along the way.

77° in the house, acceptable comfortable warm by most metrics.
Ate some ice cream and am now freezing, even with a hoodie.

physiology, please explain.

I'm half functional, hardly have the capacity to haggle over the price of used video games.
Person is offering me gamestop trade-in value 😒

Sleeping has become the most challenging task ever.

used to be able to do it very well. Now, I fail the task pretty much every night.

Buncha turkey vultures circling the house earlier, couple of red tails tagged along.
Now I'm debating whether it was brightness that washed out feather coloration or what, lol.

Recently acquired a broken heating pad (it doesn't have an automatic timer that shuts it off which is kinda nice, also low heat was measured to be approx. 140°, high TBD), but boy howdy that thing is a cramp obliterator.

Is this why my phone software update added a nebulous "Happy Birthday!" event to Calendar for the first of January?

Pfffft.

Went out to see the grand finale. Got out there just as the guys were lighting the fuse -- stuff started blowing up almost instantaneously.
It was amusing watching them haul ass outta the way.

Neighbors have been demonstrating the pyrotechnics for 4 solid hours.

It's starting to get old. They usually light a few after the sun goes down, nothing like this.. Still got an hour to go before they light the grand finale pile.

In case you ever wondered what those whistling firecrackers sounded like when slowed.

(Yelling.
It's yelling.)

Neighbors are popping off with their usual several thousand dollars' worth of fireworks.
Happy 4:55PM EST.

Realization:
Having avoided most retail establishments throughout the holidays, I went an entire holiday season without hearing Mariah Carey.

Usually am my own space heater but am suffering from the impossibly colds today.
Doesn't help that i sleep close to the window and these things are like 70's era relics.

Found a dollhouse on the side of the road.
Figuring out how to decorate it and set it up for Bird, had some miniatures to throw in there. Bird gives the disapproving "nuh-uh" to a plastic cup on a plastic saucer.

(Any water sound you may hear in the background is the aquarium, next to the house)

Did the things, mistakenly ended up touring the departure lane of the local airport not thinking the layout of the roadways changed with the construction of the expressway. D'oh.

One of the rare few times where even I'm on board with the "it's fucken cold out there" sentiment.

It'll be fine once I get moving.. issue is actually getting moving.

Scoping out the nesting options?

Would be cool if they did, then I could track the progress on a weekly basis while doing laundry.

Honestly, for a show I never touched, there are a bunch of insightful video essays and analyses of Ben10 that make it seem rather interesting.

Aw, Bird missed us (I think). She's been nesting for the last few weeks and reluctant to leave, so yesterday and today, we left her home alone (she usually comes with us to family functions).
Got home expecting her to be roosting, she was up seemingly asking where we'd been.
