this is not edgy cynicism. i do not want this to happen. but if you want there to be change you need to be realistic about the present state of things. if jeffries, schumer, or anyone in their orbit stays in power there will be no change, nobody is getting punished, all of this continues.

people need to understand that unless there is a complete change in leadership of the democratic party nobody is getting punished & most of the policies will continue post trump. they get pissed if you say that while they post fan iction about imprisoning ice while supporting jeffries, schumer etcc

i don't think you know what being "edgy" means if you find straightforward descriptions of the fact and like reasonable prognostications to be edgy. it's not so optimistic as to be delusional, which I guess you want, but it is what is most likely to happen.

i also highly doubt he is worried about being imprisoned, nothing the democrats have ever done have shown they want to punish anyone in this administration. like 90% of his policies will be continued by the next dem administration, just like it was when biden came into office.

it's really not about the oil, the current government in Venezuela is happy to have US companies suck out the oil! they want it all going to market! it's pure action for its own sake, there is no sinister hidden agenda - they want war with Venezuela because they want war somewhere and its convenient

there are easier ways to get the oil, the point of invading Venezuela is just to invade Venezuela. they want to have war somewhere. Can't be middle east (too neocon), not gonna be europe, won't be asia (china is scary and too many business interests). Venezuela is arrived at via elimination

he was really playing through horrible injuries for most of his career (as I'm sure you know). i think the neck and torn pectoral ones were the main reason he retired. it's amazing how good he was but a real shame he has had so many negative consequences from football.
