New brochure! This might be the best one we’ve ever done, and we’ve had some real bangers. Swing by the Woodstock Square Mall and grab your very own copy of “Poems to Read to Dictators”

The subtitle is “Do you get tongue-tied when you’re face-to-face with power-mad fascists? Poetry can help!” A close up of the inside of the brochure, red tulips along the bottom of the image, and above them this text: I’m finished. I trust no one, not even myself. - Joseph Stalin about a year before he was found on the floor of his bedroom, unconscious and soaked in his own urine. Above that text there is part of a list of poems that include “Not One More Refugee Death,” “Haiku and Tanka for Harriet Tubman,” and “The End of the Beginning” A closeup of the inside of the brochure. There are several small colorful, childlike graphics scattered on the page. The heading is “Poems to Read to a Dictator From Your Jail Cell” and a few of the poems titles seen are “Tonight, In Oakland,” “We Are Not Responsible,” and “Resistance.”

First, let's just get through Monday without losing our minds. Locals, join us tomorrow from 10-3 for a variety of creative analog distractions. (And if you need us to wrap you in a blanket and read you poems by Chen Chen until the horrors pass, we will absolutely do that.)
