In a TV interview, Trump says he’ll try to end birthright citizenship for children of undocumented parents. Also, he said US citizen children should leave with their deported parents if they don’t want to be separated.

A by product of a mass deportation campaign is the chilling effect on reporting crime, making communities less safe. Victims of domestic violence, particularly, may be less likely to ask for help. Community outreach is vital to fight crime and protect victim rights.

Since the elections, I met several #mixedstatus families about their immigration situation. Some of the U.S. citizen spouses-petitioners voted for Trump. Their reasoning: "He's not coming after my family."
