This is an industry that frequently rewrites standard widely-used code libraries that other humans created. People want to do it so much they put up with nightmarish hours and bad conditions. It's no surprise they don't want generative AI doing stuff for them

I basically ordered my card as part of a launch promotion partnership with Electronic Arts. IIRC if I bought one EA game I'd get $100 off, and $10 off for each additional EA game I bought. So I bought Powermonger to save money. Powermonger was meh, but the GUS rocked!

But seriously, I'm pretty sure the opposite is true - they want to sell rubber walker feet but folks use tennis balls instead because things that aren't medical devices are cheaper than things that are (especially since you can use old, dead tennis balls)
