We're partially through rendering our chibi! Even though there's not *that* much of a rush, it's easy to get invested.

I've recently been trying the public #Allumeria playtest, and it already has some decent structure!

At a glance, it reminds me mainly of Terraria, but also Minecraft, Starbound, and Stardew Valley.

The building QoL is especially promising! For example, blocks can be shaped in a few ways as you go.

"Flooring", which acts akin to Minecraft carpets, is currently selected. The surrounding area is a tiny house with paintings and other loot placed around. A screenshot of an inventory in Allumeria. The main inventory space is extremely large compared to Minecraft or even Terraria. Two subtle buttons in the lower left allow for quick inventory management, including one to sort items into nearby chests' item stacks. On the left is an equipment panel with armor, some (weirdly stacked) "trinkets" (which are accessories), ammo, and... I think that they're called tokens. The right-side panel is even more interesting: Like Terraria, any recipe that can currently be crafted is visible and can simply be clicked.

Shovel Knight is a lot of fun! The way that he fights foes, digs through walls, and also uncovers floor treasure all plays incredibly smoothly together. I can highly recommend this DLC character!

We also tried Tatters's More Modes mod and some other silly combos! Very fun!

「 Face The Night 」

I like to draw costumes each Halloween, and went for a knight & werefox this time!
I also made this for a monthly #VGenChallenge entry, so a "fog" theme is included.
It's like we're on a Castlevania-style quest! Or simply trick-or-treating.

It's inspired by her CotN plate armor sprite and Starbound's peacock armor set (in red). The armor itself consists of a red-white breastplate and shoulderpads adorned with rubies, an emerald crest with a red fabric piece, red metal gauntlets & boots, and gray arm plates & plateskirt with red frills. She's wearing a short scarf/capelet over the armor. Her leather belt supports a white drape over the plateskirt. Between segments are dark teal mesh pieces, perhaps nylon or chainmail. Her headpiece is a green circlet with ruby orbets, a gem embedded, and two wing-like geode shapes on each side - perhaps quartz. She's wearing her glasses, and has a slightly goofy but confident smile. On the right is Alter as a "werefox". She has fox ears and messy but very fluffy long purple hair. Her arms and legs are very furry, sharing her hair color, though with black at the hands and feet. The fur is also visible on the shoulders, presumably goes some distance under the clothing, and is a lighter shade towards the front. (She doesn't have paw pads, or any need.) She's wearing a white & light green dress with open shoulders, straps, flowy sleeves, and green accents. Along with green formal-looking shoes with ankle straps (clothes are still nice!), she's wearing a silver moon necklace. Alter is in a cute running pose, and has a neutral expression while baring her slightly elongated fangs. The scene is a foggy autumn forest with some pumpkins visible on the ground. Auburn stands on a rock formation in the path. I figured out how to stop my headphones from auto-playing/pausing!

When taken off or put on, they sometimes send a pause/play 'signal', like a virtual keyboard key. Linux Mint allows many custom keybinds, so that action can be rebound to my own key combo.

It also works with my tablet buttons!
A screenshot of the Keyboard settings window in Linux Mint. Selected is the Sound and Media category's keyboard shortcut Play. "Audio play", the default first binding, is unbound, so no Play/Pause signals will trigger it. This means that headphones that have auto-play/-pause features no longer automatically trigger, which can be an inconvenience at best for some users. The Play binding is replaced with Alt+Super+Space filled into the second slot, so that Auburn remembers that it's a custom binding. Fun fact: Auburn also set a Gaomon tablet button to the same binding so that she can play/pause that way. She needed to set this tablet button first, then the system binding, so that Gaomon is able to register it without the binding proc'ing instead. (Note: "Super" is Linux Mint's "Meta" key. It's essentially WinKey, but Meta is the actual umbrella term for the key.) (Also, I need to get an LM sticker for my keyboard's WinKey... @.@ )

I've been working again on setting up a print shop! I have two chibi stickers planned to start with.

The test prints arrived recently, and they're very colorful.

Another round of drafting, and the ideas are polished more! The werefox is fluffier, and I'm really happy with the new armor design that I came up with.

I'll probably use those two for the Halloween drawing next week!

We also played with a cute "princess" idea! I enjoy.

Her arms and legs are very furry, sharing her hair color - though with black instead of red at the hands and feet. The fur is visible on the shoulders as well, presumably goes some distance under the clothing, and is white towards the front. She doesn't have any paw pads (or any need for them). She's wearing a white & light green dress with open shoulders, straps (under the hair), flowy sleeves, and green accents. Along with green formal-looking shoes with ankle straps (Auburn still likes clothes!), there's also a silver moon necklace as an accessory. (The werefox concept might be used for the youkai's costume, but we'll see!) On the right is another prototype for the "Ruby Armor" outfit design. It's a mashup of her CotN plate armor sprite upscaled, as well as the red peacock armor from Starbound. It consists of a red-white breastplate & shoulderpads adorned with rubies, an emerald crest (with a red fabric piece attached), red metal gauntlets & boots (probably mythical "dragonite" metal), and gray arm plates & plateskirt with red frills. She's wearing a short scarf over the top of the armor. Her belt supports a white drape of fabric over the plateskirt. Between segments are dark teal mesh pieces - nylon or chainmail, perhaps? Her headpiece is a green circlet with ruby orblets and a gem embedded. Attached to the headpiece are two wing-like geode shapes - perhaps quartz. Next to the armor concept is a sword design (not to scale), based off of one of her favorite swords from her old Starbound saves. Auburn was considering something like this for a possible Halloween costume. Auburn drew this almost purely from imagination, so it's on the simple side. The outfit consists of a flowy gown with a pink belt, tied by a ribbon on the back. The 3/4 sleeves have pink cuffs at the end, the rest of the arms covered with a kind of fingerless glove. The hem of the dress has a pink stripe and hem proper (likely to be frills). Auburn's wearing white tights and pink formal shoes. The collar is also pink frills. She also wears a sapphire hexagon necklace and her glasses. Her hair is in a fluffy twintails style, tied up with blue hair ties. On the left, the dress is a cotton candy blue, with white gloves like silk. The right side is mid-teal (one of Auburn's favorite colors), with black gloves like nylon. (Auburn's friend Loogi noted that the light blue dress is like cotton candy! I'm concepting some Halloween costume ideas this week. There's still more workshopping & sketching to do, but I have these two so far!

A sketch page featuring two ideas for Halloween costumes. Auburn intends on making an art piece with these later. On the left is a "werefox" idea. Auburn has white-tipped fox ears and messy - but very fluffy - long hair in her usual style. Her arms and legs are very furry, sharing her hair color - though with black instead of red at the hands and feet. The fur is visible on the shoulders as well, and presumably goes some distance under the clothing. She doesn't have any paw pads (or any need for them). She's wearing a white & light green dress with open shoulders, straps (not shown), flowy sleeves, and green accents. Along with green formal-looking shoes with ankle straps (still no barefoot!), there's also a subtle silver moon necklace as an accessory. (The werefox concept might be used for the youkai's costume, but we'll see!) On the right is a prototype armor design. It's a mashup of Auburn's interpretation of her CotN plate armor sprite upscaled, as well as some bits from her CotN mod's "Dragonite Armor". It consists of a red breastplate & shoulderpads with light blue accents, an emerald crest, red metal gauntlets & boots, and gray arm plates & plateskirt with red frils. Turquoise accents are visible around the upper area. Between metal segments are dark teal mesh pieces - nylon or chainmail, perhaps? Auburn's not sure what kind of headpiece to design yet, and she intends on re-iterating the outfit once or twice anyway.
