Most importantly it has to actually be clever and funny, if a significant number of the people in the target group are laughing, then its good, its then okay if some are offended (whether genuine or pretending, does not matter)

"punching down" in jokes is fine, this comes from the mindset that everything is political and has to serve some goal, which is brain-AIDS.
Making a jew joke can be really funny, but probably not if you have a swastika tattoo, actual racists making race jokes is not really a joke then?

He said "I am a communist", that should disqualify anyone from participation in Democratic politics tbh, I care less about a skull tattoo and edgy jokes.

I am all for offensive jokes that make some people uncomfortable and/or angry.
The problem is that Rob Schneider was never really that funny to begin with, he was always a hack and never evolved, and he was never a competent actor.
