11% is absolutely crazy. While being pure evil, big tobacco’s adaptability is absolutely astonishing.

You’re supposed to be satirical.

Just saw the news about Schumer. Your district will vote for someone good regardless. It is pretty clear he needs to be primaried, and you’re the person for the job!

5-4… with the dissenting judges proving they’ve only sparked notes the constitution.

lol, this is why I never trust someone like you. “Trump is right about bribing Ukraine for minerals” is what you are saying.

Who tf cares if China mines the minerals. We’re entering the Chinese century now that Trump has told the West “America is the only thing that matters.”

I agree, we have to kill the ideology.

This is our semi-annual, “Trump was right about something actually.”

Kind of wished it would be on like healthcare, but he’s right though, the penny is a waste.

Lebron literally hates the Warriors.

It is the classical constitutional loophole that only Trump (and Andrew Jackson!) has figured out:

WASHINGTON—Saying his latest executive order was legal due to an “underutilized but totally feasible workaround,” President Trump claimed Tuesday that he could overrule the U.S. Constitution by means ...

Despite sometimes appearing political (as “reality has a well known liberal bias”), NPR is strictly apolitical, so I don’t think it would be fair for them to do.

“Bipartisanship” isn’t really a flex anymore when 1/2 the Republicans are supporting Nazis - even Michigan Republicans.

Also, I’m pretty sure all Michiganders know the Republican run government (likely deliberately or with minimal oversight) poisoned Flint.

Is the top 5 now:
5/1: Kendrick
2-4: Radiohead?

Not even a controversial take. I’d put 6:16 in LA even above NLU.

Yep, makes no sense for the US, unless the “freeze” last for 4 years.
February 4, 2025 at 1:19 PM
When the country runs a deficit, investment is efficient, and the country’s main source of revenue isn’t from one sector, these don’t really make sense. Thus, I don’t think this is a representation of further authoritarianism, but it is an indication of Trump’s poor understanding of economics.
February 4, 2025 at 1:16 PM
It is usually reserved for countries where further domestic investment is rather inefficient (i.e, does not spur growth that would lead to further wealth/national benefits).
February 4, 2025 at 1:15 PM
I kind of feel like everyone here is getting this wrong. This is definitely not socialism, but it really isn’t authoritarian either. It is perfectly normal to have a sovereign wealth fund, but it doesn’t make too much sense really in the US context.

For whatever staff member posted this, it would be nice to have a link to the proposal too.

I really cannot say the existential dread I feel. My work doesn’t really touch the auto industry, but we’re all so thoroughly impacted by the ups/downs.

This is literally mercantilism, and unless you’re stupid af, we only make up 4% of the world. We cannot win this.

You’re confusing the poor guy by two sources of heat (heat pump + I’m assuming furnace)

I love the idea of making Elon face the consequences, but unfortunately, h rid so insulated from any real world impacts, that this is really just a small comfort for us to hurt his pride.

Hopefully, Canada allows EVs to be imported from China though to fill the void (permanently).
February 2, 2025 at 5:59 AM
Did you consider he likely doesn’t give af about home prices, or Americans, and any promises he made weren’t worth the paper they were written on.
