here's what I meant by the vertex artifacting - being a UVSphere, the edges and vertices are further out than the middles of the faces, resulting in a grid pattern as the surface moves closer into and further out of the atmosphere

Do you know of any good starting point for Unreal? I remember it being difficult to find anything I wanted in the interface when I tried it last (a couple of years ago now) and the official documentation at the time wasn't even remotely up to date.

It was completely diegetic! Everything was drawn on the in-world screen, including the cursor. It also had a settings panel, though the only setting in there was to change the colour palette.

Hey, I could base an entire game around these things!

Honestly, I've found that fullsize microfiber cloths (the ones intended for monitors and the like) do a really good job at cleaning lenses. The small cloths you get with the glasses don't hold a candle to them
