Watchmen from Amon Dîn reach Minas Tirith: Elves are riding toward the city, and are already approaching the walls of the Pelennor. ‘At last they have come,’ replies Aragorn. ‘Let all the City be made ready!’

Looking at this one again tonight, one of my all-time favorites: Peter Henry Emerson / Gathering water lilies, Life and Landscape on the Norfolk Broads, 1885–86. Beautiful!

American Primeval has been rather good, one episode to go. Which reminds me, I really should wear waistcoats more often.

Daughter and partner got me this for Christmas. Gandalf and Durin's Bane on the bridge of Khazad-dûm and a Tolkien's World cookbook, they know me too well. I'll be baking lembas bread in my new jumper 😄
