𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙚, 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙇𝙮𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙤𝙣.
And it’s more than just a pun.
The name Lyon comes from 𝙇𝙪𝙜𝙙𝙪𝙣𝙪𝙢, a Roman colony founded in 43 BC.
The name isn’t originally Latin — it’s 𝙂𝙖𝙪𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝:
• 𝙇𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙨: a Celtic god of light, war, and the arts ☀️
• 𝘿𝙪𝙣𝙪𝙢: a hill or fortress.
