After a moment of silent internal debate, he speaks again, choosing his words carefully.

He trails off momentarily.

While his Carbuncle relishes the attention, Aurelius takes this opportunity to observe Panne's subtle reactions while she's distracted.

He ponders briefly upon how to gently open the door to whatever seemingly troubled her earlier.

It was the least he could do,

He wipes an imaginary tear.

"Though I suppose if anyone could pull off 'dangerously questionable' while scowling like an offended dragon at the idea... it's you."

"So much of what we've been taught," he murmurs slowly, "and not one mention of this... nuance. Not one mention of the humanity that the flood has buried, rather than killed.

I am most glad to know of this."

He nods in quiet approval.

"Keep those memories safe with you."

Nugget, in full curiosity, pads closer and sniffs the offered hand. With the initial sensing of their aetheric wavelength complete, he then nudges his snout against the Miqo'te's palm.

Aurelius observes this interaction with silent interest, all while a soft smile graces his features.

His hand claps over his mouth to muffle his snort of disbelief.

"No, no! Spare the world the sight of a naked Meteor.

Please, think of the poor people's eyes—although I suspect a certain audience would—well—Best stop that train of thought before it leaves the station."

Aurelius tries to hold it together, but he can't help but let out a stifled snicker of amusement at the thought of Meteor in an outfit like that.

"Oh dear," he manages to say in between suppressed hiccups of laughter, "I suppose some... people have /creative/ tastes."

Aurelius clears his throat awkwardly while fiddling with the feather quill in his hair.

"Did you... run afoul of some particularly mischievous pixies? Or perhaps an overzealous tailor?

Pray, explain the... the... erm—eccentricity of... /that/."

His hands gesture vaguely.

His eyes twinkle with mirth.
"The comparison is not without merit~"

Nugget chooses this moment to leap from Aurelius' shoulder to pad across to Panne for a closer look.

"Meteor, your face looks like you just swallowed a whole Sun Lemon!
Did someone put you up to this...?!"

honestly it has been so fun seeing Meteor and him (and Nugget of course,) interact. We've covered the sillies AND the vulnerable sad moments 😂

// On a funnier note, I love his pure chaotic whimsy. He looks elegant but it clashes with his passionate absurdity.

Did I mention he's also endearing and cute?
His joy is supposedly infectious, and I hope by writing him he manages to uplift you and your characters too! 😁
