It turns out Canadians don’t even necessarily pay more tax. I compared the rate I pay in Ontario to a few different states and was on the upper end of the middle. Genuinely curious as to how much tax people who make the ‘but you’re still paying for it in taxes’ argument think we’re paying.

I recently compared notes with an American on health care costs, wait times, and tax rates. You guys are getting scammed. And I’m self-employed so pay for my own private health insurance (for prescriptions, dental and optical coverage bc it’s cheaper than paying out of pocket).

As a Canadian who’s lived in the UK this is the kind of garbage Americans have to deal with that makes my brain melt. Just book a GP appointment, 15 min on Zoom if you’re too busy to go in, and then you get a referral and go see a specialist. It’s not a problem when none of it costs anything!

For sure, fully embracing the tank and watching a Chomche and/or Robinson glow up would be a great end to the season. I think I still have ‘play your stalwart vets 40 min per game til they break’ trauma from the last NN years though.

I know I know. But a warm body on a veteran’s minimum just to ride out the season so Jak can play sensible minutes rather than overdo it and join the sad ankle bench boys club feels like a sensible option. Right?

But speaking of fire and Drake as a trade wars mascot. Hating Toronto and our exports is a pillar of the anthem-booing hockey bro archetype, and they can get real arsony when riled up. Will they go for A-Minor Manor, the White House à la 1812, or their own parked cars? Who can never be sure 🤷🏻♀️
