Pet peeve of mine has to be when pop science articles mention a newly published paper but don't mention the name or give a link. Instead it's just "the paper" and "this paper".

It's very difficult to verbalize but Minecraft mod posts you'd see on MinecraftForums back in the 2011-2014 era had a certain vibe to them that simply doesn't exist anymore.

Someone really needs to setup a Bitsavers equivalent for open source software, once you start looking for stuff from before GitHub existed, you're more likely than not going to end up hitting dead link after dead link, regardless of if you're lucky enough to find a .tar.gz/.zip
