Today I visited Medinet Madi

This settlement was founded by Amenemhat III in the Middle Kingdom at the edge of the Fayoum, and was originally named Dja. Its temple was dedicated to Renenutet and Sobek of Shedet. During the Ptolemaic period and in Roman times, it was known as Narmouthis.

The Esna Lock. For us, a drop of around 8 metres (26 feet). This takes considerable navigation skill.
