Reader extraordinaire 😁. French, European, Anglophile. Loves reading books, talking about books and buying books. Can also be found baking and walking my dogs when not working for the NHS.
This is a stunning novel which does not let you go until the end.

It is simply sensational. #devonbookhour

I read that earlier this year. I liked it but controversially I think it is not his best work. The Trees is a great novel: dark but very very funny.

Aaah that would explain why I have not read her 😂: does not sound like my jam. I also loved the Morning Star and really loved it although it was a while ago. #devonbookhour

My favourite Xmas film by far 🥰

Christmas reading is fun … I somehow never get round to it. What stories will you read? #devonbookhour

I am reading As You Were by Elaine Feeney which is superb. Hoping to finish it tonight. Next I am not sure but thinking maybe an Isabel Allende as I have 3 on my shelf.

Sounds good. Love Knausgaard but never read Catriona Ward. Tell me more about both of them #devonbookhour

Ooo I have not heard of her either. Feeney is an Irish writer. Very beautiful writing and writes eloquently about grief. #devonbookhour

I read Seascraper by Benjamin Wood - amazing and One Boat by Jonathan Buckley which was just ok I would say.

It is quirky but not all of his books are. The only ones I have seen in translation are The Henry Pick Mystery and Charlotte. Both are great. Definitely recommend him. He is prolific and brilliant.

I can definitely do the first as I will be on leave and can try and do the 24th if I am home on time which I should be.
