So, in honor of summer, I made my low-carb fresh strawberry pie. The crust is a bit brown because I put cinnamon and nutmeg in it for more flavor. I also used a bit more sweetener (Truvia & stevia) since the strawberries are early and still a bit sour!

So I had these 2 Anthurium, or flamingo flowers, one red, one pink. I have had them potted for over 8 years. They grew big and then got sickly despite my best efforts. So I cut the back severely assuming they would either die or live. They are coming back!

planted a Key Lime seed 5 years ago and it has grown into a very rigorous bush. I cut it back every year as shown in the pictures to keep it manageable. It has long thorns which scratch me and keep the deer off. It bloomed this past winter for the first time. No bees around but this summer!

The little cactus I bought over 7 years ago now has grown and produced one child cactus. Today they are putting on an unbelievable show for me!

I got a sickley white rose 3 years ago from a dumpster at Lowes and planted its almost dead self in the ground next to my deck. It has survived and grown onto my decks railing.
