Husband, Father, Freemason, Author. Coming soon, my Autobiographical horror “The West Grand Haunting”.
My goal is to promote the work I’ve done, not so much me (though admittedly this recent work is an autobiographical horror… but even then, it represents me 34 years ago, not me at age 44).

The market seems designed for a vicious survival cycle. I draw the line there. I won’t denigrate, eviscerate, or devastate anyone else in my attempt to get my work visible. I’m also not particularly interested in my own reflection, so I’m not going to be posting pointless self aggrandizing content.

…but indie means I still want to gain as much exposure as possible, and I’ve gotten some really awesome reviews. Most of them didn’t transfer over to Amazon, and those that did, only half were verified purchases for my work, and the other half purchased books elsewhere but managed to post a review.

It’s harder to break out on any market. I didn’t self publish, because I never planned on ever writing seriously again. When madhouse picked me up, they were clear that they were a small indie publisher, but that they’d do 98% of all the legwork… and kept 100% to to their promise…

I have seen this in action. My pub had it set up so that all reviews were supposed to transfer over. Then, they didn’t. Then, only SOME of those who purchased copies from other sellers that weren’t Amazon could not leave reviews, while others who purchased copies from B&N, etc, were able.
