Being autistic is sooo fun because you can tell when someone is telling a lie a mile off.

You're just waiting and hoping for the opportunity to pick at what the person is saying by asking questions just to get to the real facts. It's like you're a detective getting to the bottom of solving a crime.

Being autistic can be so frustrating at times, and here's just one reason why.

Sometimes you can't just "do that"

Even if you were to "do that" before or yesterday, it makes no difference.

Being told well you did that before or yesterday don't help ethier.

Sometimes you simply can't do that.

Shouldn't speak about anybody like that, regardless of disabilities or not.

‘thats not autism, thats just a normal human trait.’

Me: cheers for pointing out autistic people are also human.

I do things that "normal" humans do aswell, however far more intensely or less to the point where it impacts my day to day life which may lead to burnout or meltdowns. What about you?!

I never get bored of listening to Hoppípolla.

So much so it's been a staple on my mp3 player for years and years.

‘I have a son who is autistic and you're not like him.’

Me: I do apologise, I had no idea we all had to be the same to be autistic.. not.

I get so confused when individuals compare autism to diseases or whatever.

‘I'm so sorry you're autistic.’

Me: You do know I'm ok right.

I feel kind of left out at this point.

When you're reading that someone saying this causes autism or that causes autism its important to know this.

The person in question doesn't know what they're talking about.

When responding to an autistic experience online, saying "everyone does this" is not.. I repeat NOT a compliment or even comforting to the person on the receiving end.

At least not in my experience anyway. Yet people still continue to do this. Why oh why I don't know but people continue to do this.

I keep on seeing people argue back and forth about whether autism is “caused” by tylenol, or vaccines, or whatever the latest thing is.

Autism is not a brain disease, a side effect, or even a mistake. It’s inherited. It’s natural. It’s human life.

We have always existed and we always will.
autisticadam.bsky.social
Hmmm I never thought I would have to mute the word Tylenol because of what is being said about autism.

It's simple enough, don't always believe what you read folks, it's not difficult.
