Note that the company he shared won't pick up hazmat from residential addresses, full stop.

What does someone need to do to get rid of a little white phosphorus, metallic lithium, metallic potassium, and iodine‽

The FD hazmat Lt. apologized that this is "kicking the can down the road." Funnily enough literally kicking any of these cans would result in it falling into their area of duty...

asked for their help disposing of this... They run it up the chain, including over to the sheriff who apparently handles this too, and they suggested I call the disposal company that they'd use if they rolled out for this as a call.

That company also won't work with residential customers...

I just can't shake the fear that this ends up with me arrested, or at least charged...

Improper storage? I don't think any chemical elements that are illegal to possess, except maybe some radioactive ones.

The stress is really making it hard to focus on packing to move.

be psyched for a training/actual call re what I have...

I just hope that when the county SO shows up along with the FD, as I'm certain they will, that they leave the proctological tools in their vehicle.

Still waiting for a call from the one hazardous waste company that would put together a quote.

The only other option, as I see it, is to call the local fire department's hazmat team, and tell them what I have and see what they recommend. I grew up around firefighters and I strongly suspect they'll

private parties that do have hazmat of the sort that I do, are likely to be running, well, meth labs for one.

My stupid teenage self left me ladened with a collection of chemicals that can't touch water, or come into contact with air, or is itself an strong oxidizer that likes to sublimate. FML

two hazardous materials disposal companies he's worked with.

But the hazmat disposal companies I've been able to reach do not service residential clients. I get that for two reasons. The first being that most private individuals don't have really hazardous materials. The second being that the

company, and he was helpful in that he validated the anxiety I have in considering how to properly dispose of my, um, chemistry set.

Called a few Enviro&Land use attorneys, and finally got a call back from someone in state that understood the danger and bind I've put myself into. They suggested

Sounds like it's a prime time to crime.

It really is.

If you enjoy light, sci-fi reading, then First Evidence by Ken Goddard is good. It's a three part series.

I just checked my Goodreads, and I gave First Evidence four stars. Book two only got three from me, and book three got only two stars. So stop whenever you feel it's flagging.

What is possible is selectively letting small groups of the raiding party in then locking them in to be arrested once they regain control of the situation.

Between that and calling in the proximal agencies for assistance, I'd wager they could apprehend 90%+ of those involved storming the facility.

I presume there is some training on a raid to free an inmate, and maybe there are a few senior officers in charge that can use the easier to enter than leave against any raiding party.

Put all the inmates back in their cells and lock down all the interior doors, and it becomes nearly impossible.

It's got to be far easier to break in than out.

It's designed to keep people inside, to a far lesser extent to keep people and contraband out.

An organized group could breach the chain link fences fairly easily, and, if it was coordinated with TP, she could walk right out of the "yard."

Humans don't know anything about anything. It's funny, because it is true.

Is this still available? It'd be the perfect xmas gift for my poor little boy Timmy. Timmy's had such a rough year. I can pay you half of the asking price, but I need you to deliver it tonight between 1120 and 1130.

Thanks in advance for making the xmas the best Timmy has ever had.

Or Change Agent by Daniel Suarez.

Not that I'm not saying musk reads, but if he did he'd totally confuse sci-fantasy for hard sci-fi.
