So, even though everything is bad, I choose to have joy, love, laughter, and hope. In a world where the colonizers have done everything they can to keep me from living my life as I am, continuing to live on is one way I can show them that they have not won.

I know I should be doing more. I want to do more. But on the days when getting out of bed feels like more than I can handle, I remember that my existence is a form of resistance. Choosing joy is resistance. Choosing love and laughter is resistance. Hope is resistance.

They've taken my people's land, history, and resources. They have done and continue to do everything in their power to keep me down. But they can't colonize me. I have to choose to stand up despite everything telling me its not worth it.
