Following this first vote in favor of the draft law by a simple majority in the Chamber of Deputies, the process now moves on to the Senate. There, the text of the draft law must be adopted unchanged. Afterwards, it will be the Chamber's turn again to vote once more before the Senate votes again.

🥳 Today South Tyrol celebrates its Autonomy Day!

On 5 September 1946, the Italian Prime Minister Alcide Degasperi and the Austrian Foreign Minister Karl Gruber signed the Gruber-Degasperi Agreement. The agreement constitutes the international legal basis for South Tyrol's autonomy.
