👋 We're still pretty new to @bsky.app and #EnergySky so wanted to share a little about ourselves as a CCA in California 🤝 it's nice to be here with you all!
Infographic reading 'Ava by the Numbers': We currently serve millions of people every year on 641,726 customer accounts. With Stockton and Lathrop (joining our service on April 1), we estimate a total of 762,074 customer accounts. Two-slide infographic:
(1) We've saved our customers over $145 million through our Bright Choice service plan and bill credits, which are redistributed back to our customers at the end of the year.
(2) We've contracted 23 renewable power projects, like the Scott Haggerty Wind Energy Center in Livermore, which generates enough wind energy to power 47,000 homes every year. Two infographic slides:
(1) We're a public not-for-profit agency, which means we have 0 shareholders. Our financial statements, budgets, and meeting recordings are readily available on our website.
(2) We're dedicated to lower rates and serving our communities while striving for 100% carbon-free energy by 2030.

Plus, residents and qualifying small businesses will see a $58.23 “California Climate Credit” on your October energy bills. This credit comes from California’s cap-and-trade program, which helps to reduce carbon pollution and improve public health.

Fall is bringing lower energy bills!

In September, electricity rates decreased by 2.1% for all Ava and PG&E customers. For an average household in our service area, that means monthly bills will decrease by $3-$5. Higher summer rates also ended on 9/30.

Thank you for being an Ava customer ⚡🤗

This innovative financing technique allows CCAs to pay for decades of renewable energy upfront, locking in certainty and lower rates. More: avaenergy.org/from-the-ceo...

A major fire at a battery station at Monterey Bay has raised safety concerns, just as energy storage takes off in California. Power suppliers, regulators, and safety officials are revisiting rules and protocols to ensure battery storage remains a viable path to a cleaner energy system.
