The violin concerto was my first experience of Beethoven, so it is special for me too. Heard Menuhin do it on a valve Philips reel to reel tape recorder. That dates me!

Caught Mercury this evening from Warwick Avenue. It's very faint more or less below Venus slightly to the left, between the pollarded trees above the roof line.
