the proposed language includes "incitement" based on "the belief that opposing [trans care] ... poses an imminent threat to [trans people's] safety".
does just stating this "belief" (read: evidence-based fact) constitute incitement? I wouldn't put it past them to make that argument

it reminds me of what I heard about the satanic panic back in the 80's I think it was. or the red scare. hopefully it'll be soon that society realizes how insane it is to fish for any possible connection to a trans person, no matter how much a stretch, in order to blame us for everything

I sent the article to some of my cis friends who were singing Newsom's praises. so far no reaction from them at all. I think it's inconvenient to have to consider what this means for trans folks.
